Chocolate Granola

Hello everybody, I hope you’re having an amazing day today. Today, I will show you a way to make a special dish, chocolate granola. It is one of my favorites food recipes. For mine, I’m gonna make it a bit tasty. This will be really delicious.

Chocolate Granola is one of the most popular of current trending meals on earth. It’s easy, it’s fast, it tastes delicious. It’s appreciated by millions every day. Chocolate Granola is something that I have loved my whole life. They’re fine and they look fantastic.

If you want a stickier granola, that will more easily clump together, you can up the brown sugar and maple syrup a bit, as I used the bare minimum in this recipe, but I think it's plenty sweet enough, especially if you're a fan of dark chocolate. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper, and set aside. In a large mixing bowl, stir together oats, almonds, cocoa powder and sea salt until evenly combined.

To begin with this particular recipe, we have to first prepare a few ingredients. You can have chocolate granola using 9 ingredients and 7 steps. Here is how you cook it.

The ingredients needed to make Chocolate Granola:
  1. Make ready 75 ml vegetable oil
  2. Take 125 ml honey or golden syrup
  3. Make ready 1 tsp vanilla extract
  4. Make ready 2 tbsp unsweetened good quality cocoa powder
  5. Get 6 pieces 70% dark chocolate
  6. Take good pinch salt
  7. Get 300 g rolled oats or a mixture of oats and oatmeal
  8. Make ready 300 g nuts and seeds; slivered almonds, sunflower seeds, cashew nuts (broken up) etc
  9. Prepare 2-3 tbsp demerara sugar

In a medium pot set over low heat, combine the oil with the butter, brown sugar, honey, vanilla, cocoa powder and salt. In a large bowl, combine the oats, wheat germ, cereal and cornmeal. To a food processor (or mixing bowl), add the oats, nuts, coconut, chia seeds, coconut sugar, salt, and cocoa powder. Pulse a few times (or stir) to combine.

Steps to make Chocolate Granola:
  1. Warm the oil, honey, chocolate and salt in a pan until the chocolate has melted.
  2. Measure the oats, nuts, seeds and sugar together in a bowl. Preheat the oven to 160C/Gas 2.
  3. Pour the oil and chocolate mixture into the bowl of oats and nuts and mix together really well.
  4. Line a roasting tray with baking parchment, use two if you don't have a large one, the granola needs to be spread thinly enough to toast evenly.
  5. Bake for 15 minutes, then remove from the oven and gently mix. I use the paper to pile the granola in the middle then re-spread it all out. Return to the oven for 10 minutes more, but keep a close eye and check after 5, you don't want it to scorch even slightly.
  6. You want the nuts to be golden coloured. It will crisp at it cools, so if it's still a little chewy it doesn't mean its not had enough cooking time, and remember you can always put it back in.
  7. Leave to cool completely before transferring to an airtight container. You can use the paper again to just pour it in. Serve with ice cold milk.

A simple mix of chocolate chips and chocolate covered raisins is added to the granola after it bakes - to avoid burning any chocolate. While the granola is still warm, add in the chocolate chips and give them a nice stir. The warm granola will melt the chocoalte chips creating large sticky chocolate clusters. On to round number two… I took my favorite crunchy granola recipe, stripped away all of the nuts and dried fruit, and simply added two cups of chocolate chips. This turned out a much better result, seeing as how chocolate chips generally hold their shape when baked, and will remain firm enough when cooled down to be handled.
